Lakehill Preparatory School seeks a full-time Staff Accountant to begin immediately for the 2025-26 school year.
The Staff Accountant position will work within the Business Office to provide financial services and information for all school constituents, including parents and students, employees, vendors, and the Board of Directors. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to maintain complete and accurate accounting records to enable prompt closing at each month and year end. The Staff Accountant will also work to help process payroll. Lakehill Preparatory School guides motivated students to learn with curiosity, lead with confidence, and serve with compassion. Responsibilities Include: -Helping process Accounts Payable and ensuring that all payments are made accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the Business Office schedule and vendors’ terms and conditions. -Processing Accounts Receivable and ensuring that all sources of the School’s income are recorded efficiently and accurately including student accounts and auxiliary sources of income (extended care, summer camp, facilities rentals and incidental billing) -Monitoring open purchase orders and communicating with budget holders to prevent any delays in payments. -Identifying and accounting for prepayments and accrued expenses. -Inputting cash receipts promptly, efficiently and accurately. -Processing Fixed Asset transactions promptly as directed. -Preparation of journals in accordance with month and year end close schedules -Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. -Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications: -A high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality - A bachelor's degree with previous experience in accounting and a CPA, or CPA candidate. -Knowledge of QuickBooks and preferred knowledge of FACTS -Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel. -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Ability to work with a wide range of individuals -Initiative and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively -Attention to detail, follow-through, and organization, and a genuine enthusiasm, positive presence, and flexibility -A commitment to Lakehill’s vision of learning with curiosity, leading with confidence, and serving with compassion through actively improving one’s craft and growing professionally, serving as a role model for our students.
